Mum & Baby Yoga in Richmond & Kew
A welcoming, fun and nourishing class blending healing postnatal yoga for mum, baby yoga stretches & movements, with time and space to share and connect with other new mums!
Carefully selected postnatal yoga poses and practices will help you to stretch out tension, gradually rebuild strength, support your pelvic floor and relax and restore as a new mum,
Baby yoga stretches and movements adapted to your baby’s age will not only keep your baby entertained, but also help you better understand and actively support their physical development, body confidence, ‘hit’ their developmental milestones, and promote bonding and relaxation.
Through the class, you’ll also learn practical tips to take into your day to day life, like new ways to lift and carry your baby and offer ‘tummy time’, supportive baby play ideas and songs, and how to integrate some yoga for you in a busy day with your baby.
All classes start with a sharing time, when you can also ask any questions concerning your postnatal recovery and receive tailored recommendations/advice for your practice.
A perfect follow-on from the mum & baby nurture course. No yoga experience necessary!
Classes usually run in 6- or 7-week blocks, which can be joined at any point if space remains. Trials might be available depending on space.

What is Baby Yoga?
Baby yoga is about actively helping your baby discover and learn to move their body, develop balance and coordination, and support the healthy development of their nervous system, through gentle, playful stretches, movements, holds, rolls and swings.
This is always done in relationship with you, never forced and always adapted to your baby’s developmental stage and how they feel on the day.
These movements and stretches support your baby’s development, help baby reach their milestones (like sitting, rolling, crawling) at their own pace, and help you and your baby grow, bond and co-regulate together.
I’ve never done yoga / haven’t practiced in a long time
All my classes are designed to welcome complete beginners, so there is no need to worry if you’ve never stepped on a mat, or fear not to be flexible enough (postnatal yoga really isn’t about flexibility anyway!).
The yoga we explore in my classes can be quite different to what you might have seen or done before anyway, entirely designed around the needs of the postnatal body, and to address the demands of motherhood. The perfect opportunity to discover, or rediscover yoga!
What if my baby cries or sleeps?
In these classes, you and your baby are welcome exactly as you are, and encouraged to go with the flow, joining in or taking a pause to feed, rock, change a nappy, etc.
Whatever is happening with your baby during the class, you will be shown a way you can still take part and benefit in some way or another, maybe it be enjoy extra stretches, focus on breathing or pelvic floor healing, or simply being & sharing with other mums and babies.
