Yoga for Digestive Health online workshop

Whether you are:

  • suffering from digestive issues or discomforts (bloating, constipation, IBS, gastritis, SIBO, etc)

  • looking to support your digestive & gut health in general

  • or curious to discover a more therapeutic, mindful and restorative way of practicing yoga that supports digestive and hormonal balance and overall well-being

this workshop will introduce you to empowering knowledge, yoga and somatic practices to help you ‘meet’ and better understand your digestive discomforts, address your symptoms and find more ease & calm in the belly and whole body.

A workshop exploring gentle therapeutic yoga to support digestive function and wellbeing, and help you regain more ease & calm in the belly.

We will first start with a chat to help you understand the foundations of a well-functioning digestive system and how common modern factors - including our stressful, sedentary lifestyle and our attitudes to our belly & symptoms - often contribute to digestive issues & discomforts and how we experience them.

We will then explore a sequence of yoga postures, somatic movement, breath awareness and restorative poses designed to support the ‘rest & digest’ function of the body by helping you to:

  • (re)connect with your belly & inner sensations in that area

  • release deeply held tensions and restrictions in the belly and body to create/restore more ease

  • balance and soothe the nervous system for greater calm and rest.

We will finish with some time for your questions & reflections.

What will we do?

The workshop will equip you with practices that can help alleviate feelings of stagnation/retention or tension of any sort in the belly and surrounding areas, but also simply help you attune to this part of your body (which we often ‘reject’) and receive the calming benefits of nourishing, mindful movement.

The workshop will also be an opportunity to create space in your busy life for you to stop and pay attention to what your body is trying to communicate.

Yoga for digestive health does not seek to ‘treat’ or ‘cure’, but rather foster a supportive approach and ‘body environment’ that underpins digestive well-being.

How will it help?

Who is it for?

The practices we will explore are accessible to all abilities including complete beginners.
The workshop is also suitable for new mums in the postpartum/postnatal period.
It is not however suitable for pregnancy as we will do many practices lying on the floor and/or that might compress the belly.
